Baked Apples
Baked Fruit is a great way for a new mum to eat fruit that is easy to digest. This recipe came from my sister, who is a pastry chef, it goes well on its own or with double cream, ice cream, yoghurt or with your porridge in the morning.
Ingredients
Apples
1 Tsp butter or Ghee per apple
2 tsp jaggery or brown sugar per apple
Cinnamon
2 whole cloves per apple
Steps
1. Pre heat oven to 175c
2. Core apples
3. Place inside a shallow baking dish
4. Place in the centre of the apple 1tsp butter/Ghee and 2tsp of jaggery/sugar
5. Sprinkle with cinnamon using a sieve and stick the two cloves into the skin of the apple
6. Bake for 15 – 20mins until cooked through and soft without the butter burning
7. Remove the cloves before eating
